BROOKHAVEN RACQUET CLUB IN DALLAS AS USTA MEMBER
ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., February
24, 2003 ? The USTA today announced the Brookhaven Racquet
Club in Dallas is the 2003 USTA Member Organization of the
Year. The USTA bestows this annual honor, given to the
organization that provides outstanding service to its
members and the local community, to the Brookhaven Racquet
Club on Tuesday, April 15 during its Annual Meeting at the
La Quinta Resort & Racquet Club in La Quinta, Calif.
Since its inception in 1957, Brookhaven Racquet Club has
helped the USTA grow tennis in Dallas and throughout the
state of Texas. With a current membership of over 1,200
total adults and juniors, Brookhaven Racquet Club consists
of 17 lighted outdoor hard courts, five outdoor lighted clay
courts, eight climate controlled courts and eight covered
courts with two lighted backboards and an indoor ball
machine court.
Brookhaven offers its members all of the USA Tennis programs
(USA Free for All, USA Tennis 1-2-3, USA Team Tennis, USA
League Tennis, USA School Tennis and USA Tournament Tennis)
and hosts an array of tennis mixers that emphasize the fun
and social aspects of tennis. It has donated its facilities
for numerous USTA sanctioned tournaments, programs, and
special events, as well as for interscholastic play among
several local colleges and schools in Dallas. It hosts many
fundraising and special events for players of differing
abilities, and supports multicultural initiatives through
junior player development and scholarships.
In addition to receiving national recognition from the USTA,
the Brookhaven Racquet Club was named as this year?s Member
Organization of the Year by the USTA Texas Section.
Brookhaven has also been recognized by Tennis Industry
magazine as the finest private tennis club in the United
States.

its long history of serving the Dallas community and its
members with innovative programming and events for people of

Brookhaven Racquet Club is a
component of Brookhaven Country Club. It is the founding
club of ClubCorp, its parent company that owns approximately

tennis courts in the world with 80 tennis clubs and over 800

the late Robert Dedman Sr., who was a highly accomplished
